As a Seattle-area senior photographer, I get the chance to chat with a lot of seniors who want that classic college experience without straying too far away from their hometown. You should get the chance to live in a dorm, explore the campus, and eat a surplus of cafeteria food while still getting to visit your parents (and their laundry rooms!) on the weekend. Lucky for you, Washington is home to several really great schools. Here are the colleges in Washington state I always recommend!
1410 NE Campus Pkwy, Seattle, Washington, 98195
If you are looking for a big state college where you can find your group, the University of Washington is your place. The main campus is located on over 703 acres with around 50,000 students. They have a thriving medicine program, plus they put a huge value on student-led research. No matter what you want to study, I’m going to guess they have it!
255 E. Main Street, Pullman, Washington 99163
Washington State University is located in Pullman and features one of the most breathtaking college campuses around. They have around 24,000 students across 11 academic colleges and 6 campuses. This is also a fantastic choice for the dedicated students who prefer to take a virtual approach. They have a wonderful online school with programs that will keep you engaged.
345 Boyer Ave, Walla Walla, Washington 99362
Whitman College is a liberal arts school that has a friendly atmosphere where you’re going to thrive! They take a more personalized approach to their education, offering a 9:1 student-faculty ratio. Nonetheless, they still have tons of programs you can choose with over 60 majors. They also have tons of resources to give you a head start on your career.
502 East Boone Avenue, Spokane, Washington, 99258
On top of destroying thousands of March Madness brackets, Gonzaga University is responsible for giving tons of Washington state students the best college experience possible! This private school has around 7,000 students. With a 12:1 student-to-faculty ratio, you are going to have all the attention you need to succeed. They have a seriously impressive engineering program on top of their wide range of majors.
901 12th Avenue, Seattle, Washington 98122
At Seattle University, they invite you to pursue your passions so you can land the career of your dreams! This private Jesuit college has around 7,000 students with over 65 undergraduate degrees to choose from. My favorite thing about this school is how much they invite you to explore this area. With PNW adventures and a strong love of working with the community, you are going to get so much out of this Seattle school!
