Your senior pictures are a pretty huge deal. This is your way of celebrating your accomplishments and showing the world that you are done with high school! These pictures are going to live on in frames inside your parents’ entryway and on graduation announcements across refrigerators. Don’t worry, though. I have you covered! As a Renton senior photographer, I get the chance to work with tons of students as they prepare for their Liberty High School Washington graduation. If you could use some help, let me give you some tips!
First things first, let’s chat about clothing. I always advise my Liberty High School Washington students to bring a few changes of outfits. Find ones that show off your individuality and help you feel comfortable. And by that, I don’t just mean clothing you can easily move around in. I mean outfits that don’t make you feel self-conscious. After all, this is your chance to shine! I would steer away from clashing patterns and blinding neons because those can be hard to photograph. But other than that, find some fun, flattering colors and get wild. You can dress it up with accessories such as hats and jewelry. This is also a great way to show your school spirit with letterman jackets or with uniforms.
Speaking of uniforms, your pictures should be reflective of your time at Liberty High School Washington. If you played sports, you can bring along your equipment, and we can find a way to work it in. Same thing if you play in band. Things like skateboards, books, pets, cars, and even your emotional support water bottle all make for great photo props. You are telling the story of the past four years; choose items that best represent this!
One of my biggest suggestions for getting ready for your Liberty High School Washington pictures is to hire a professional hair and makeup artist. If we are being honest, Gen-Z has hair and makeup skills that are out of this world. You grew up with YouTube tutorials and TikTok while we had gunky Dream Mousse foundation and whatever else we could find in our mom’s vanity. Nonetheless, you still want to stick with a professional because they are going to know how to create styles that last and will also photograph well. Plus, you don’t have to worry about accidentally getting it wrong the day of.
Let’s be so for real right now. There’s never a bad reason to get a new manicure. Booking new nails before your portraits not only lets you be super coordinated but also helps make sure that you don’t accidentally neglect your nails right before your pictures. There is a good chance you will do some poses that will show off your hands. Why not make them shine?
With these tips, you can have senior pictures that stand out! If you still need a little help planning your session, just let me know. As a Renton senior photographer, I love working with students to make sure they have gorgeous pictures. We can also have a conversation so you can know if my portrait sessions are right for you.
