Treat The Family To These 4 Fantastic Kosher Restaurants In Bellevue, WA

Gilbert’s On Main

10024 Main Street, Bellevue WA, 98004

Let’s face it: A good, authentic Jewish deli can be hard to find, particularly when you’re not on the East Coast. But the West Coast has some pretty good rivals if you know where to go! Gilbert’s on Main is one of those rare deli gems serving up kosher Jewish favorites, innovative sandwiches, and everything in between. Gilbert’s has been Bellevue’s only authentic deli experience for over 26 years. It’s a warm, communal space that is perfect for meeting up with friends, enjoying a cozy family dinner, or even just savoring a cup of coffee solo.

This small, independently owned restaurant offers a sincere atmosphere of hospitality, where your favorites will always be served with a smile. Indulge in Jewish classics like a cup of steaming hot matzo ball soup or a classic hot pastrami sandwich on Jewish rye. Gilbert’s is famous for their No. 9 Reuben sandwich, a colossal accomplishment of pastrami and corned beef, Swiss cheese, homemade coleslaw, and homemade Russian dressing (served with half a dill pickle, of course.)

Gilbert’s is always a great spot for breakfast or brunch, too. With a menu full of pancakes, omelets, scrambles, and thick-cut brioche French Toast, you can’t go wrong starting your day at Gilbert’s on Main. It’s a true deli experience you have to try to believe, and once you’ve seen the light, you’ll be a loyal customer for life!

Pabla Indian Cuisine

364 Renton Center Way SW #C60, Renton WA 98057

Kosher food doesn’t always have to be Jewish food! For anyone who loves ethnic spices and flavor profiles, you’ll definitely want to check out Pabla Indian Cuisine. It was the first kosher Indian vegetarian restaurant in Renton, Washington, when it opened in 1998, though its history goes much further back to 1947 in Punjab, India! Owner Harnek Singh Pabla immigrated in the 1990s and worked as a chef throughout California before opening his first restaurant in Seattle in 1995 and then the Renton location several years later.

Pabla Indian Cuisine is 100% meat-free, egg-free, and alcohol-free – plus, some of their dishes can even be made dairy-free upon request! They have their kosher certification from the Va’ad HaRabanim of Seattle, making it the perfect place for observant diners looking to spice up their diet. In a rush? Want to experiment with Indian flavors on your own? The restaurant is also home to a small grocery store that sells frozen dishes and bread prepared by their kosher kitchen.

In addition to Indian classics like samosas, saag, masala, mattar, and curries, Pabla Indian Cuisine also features some of the area’s best Indian baked goods. A testament to their legacy back in Punjab, India, you can find a variety of sweet delicacies to enjoy after your meal (or to bring home with you – if they last the car ride home!)

Gold Schnitzel

1190d Sunset Blvd NE, Renton, WA 98056

Gold Schnitzel is a delicious new Bellevue, WA take on Israeli Mediterranean food that is entirely kosher. You can visit to enjoy favorites like vibrant and spicy shakshuka or refreshing tabouli salad. Every dish is a little taste of Israel made with authenticity and love.

In addition to Mediterranean classics, Gold Schnitzel is also known for their, well, schnitzel! Thin strips of lightly breaded and fried chicken are served in baguettes and on platters, accompanied by a variety of toppings, sides, dips, and sauces. If you’re a truffle lover, you have to try the Truffle Schnitzel Baguette, with truffle-infused schnitzel, arugula, red onion, tomato, truffle aioli, and crispy onions. Their Gold’s burger is another indulgent specialty, complete with caramelized onion and a special house sauce. Whether you’re craving something light and fresh or hearty and meaty, you can find something utterly delicious at Gold Schnitzel.

Gold Schnitzel opened in the fall of 2023, but despite being relatively new to the restaurant scene, they’ve made their menu accessible through DoorDash. Just keep in mind that they’re closed on Fridays and Saturdays in observance of Shabbat, so you’ll need to plan to curb your schnitzel craving a little earlier in the week!
